Q&A

  • » What is The FLAG Art Foundation?

The FLAG Art Foundation is a new exhibition space for contemporary art. The program will include 2 to 3 professionally-curated shows each year. Each will consist of works by established and emerging international artists. We will be on the 9th and 10th floors of the Chelsea Arts Tower located in the heart of New York’s art district on 25th Street.

  • » Is there a permanent collection?

No. FLAG will operate in the spirit of a Kunsthalle. Curators will select and borrow work from a variety of sources much as any museum would organize an exhibition.

  • » Will the art be for sale?

No. The FLAG Art Foundation is an exhibition space not a gallery. The objective is to present a venue in which visitors can view, contemplate, and be inspired by the artworks.

  • » Does the art come from a particular source?

Depending on the vision of the curator, the pieces will be culled through the generous loans of various private collections, museums, and galleries.

  • » When is the space open?

The first show will be in Winter 2007. To be placed on our invitation list, please send your full contact details to info@flagartfoundation.org. Given our limited infrastructure, FLAG will initially be open by appointment only. On occasional Saturday afternoons, the space will be open to the public.

  • » I am a curator. Can I curate a show?

The schedule is set very far in advance but you may send a brief description of your proposal and the appropriate contact information to info@flagartfoundation.org.

  • » Are you hiring?

Currently the staffing needs are very limited but you may send any job-related inquires and a resume to info@flagartfoundation.org.
